This was a class assembly performed by 5 children (When we performed it, 1 and 2 were confident girls, 3 was a girl with speech difficulties and 4 and 5 were boys) about Mums that have made history. The children researched Anna Jarvis, Marie Curie, Emmeline Pankhurst, Jessica Ennis, Tanni Grey-Thompson and JK Rowling for their homework and I wrote this assembly piece to show the rest of the school what we had been learning about. A four-lesson unit (although lesson 3 where the children create their boxes took two lessons!) to research, design, create and evaluate their sandwich boxes. The final box design itself is as the resource file picture shows, not triangular, but contains photographic steps for the children to follow. I used this lesson unit with a mixed Year 3/4 class (who got very into it), but have made these boxes with Year 5 before as well. This unit does not include actually making the sandwiches, but that could be included also. Thanks for looking!
